Zion Medicinals Review
Zion Medicinals is a New Hampshire based company offering “spagyric extracted” CBD tinctures. If you aren’t familiar with spagyric extraction, it is the age-old alchemical process of carefully separating herbal compounds into three core parts, extracting their nutrients, then reunifying them into a single extract.
By properly utilizing spagyrics in CBD extraction, it ensures that the maximum amount of CBD was extracted from the hemp plant and allows the end-product to contain higher potency and bioavailability compared to products made using traditional extraction methods.
Even though spagyric extraction has been practiced since ancient times, and is used for many other herbal extracts, there are few CBD brands that utilize this process, and Zion Medicinals is one of them.
With the research we’ve done on spagyrics, we were immediately interested in testing out Zion Medicinals’ products. One thing we did find was that because spagyric extraction is a bit more extensive than traditional methods, the products cost a bit more. This isn’t a problem as long as spagyrics really is more effective than traditional extraction process.
So, is “spagyrics extraction” just a way to entice customers, or are Zion Medicinals’ CBD tinctures worth giving a try? Let’s find out! In this review, we will be testing out Zion Medicinals’ 750mg full spectrum tincture. Enjoy!
According to its website, Zion manufactures its CBD tinctures from single-sourced organic Colorado-grown hemp, which is then processed through spagyric extraction to deliver maximum bioavailability and effectiveness. From a visual inspection of the oil, it exhibits a dark, green coloring with a clear consistency and texture. This indicates quality and proper blending, which is further supported by positive lab results from Pro Verde Labs.
Zion Medicinals’ CBD tincture features a strong, cannabis aroma and flavor that may be appealing to some users, but unappealing to others. While this natural flavor is a minor sacrifice to enjoy the benefits of CBD, it may deter users who don’t enjoy the natural, cannabis flavor.
Now, please keep in mind, the flavor has nothing to do with the quality and effectiveness of the product (it actually works really well – see “Personal Experience” below), but flavor is an important factor for many consumers.
Price vs. Value
Available on ZionMedicinals.com for $129.99, a 30ml bottle of Zion’s 750mg tincture costs about $0.17 per mg of cannabinoids. This increased cost is likely a result of the additional time and processes involved in spagyric extraction. While Zion’s CBD tinctures are definitely priced higher than other tinctures on the market, we believe the price is definitely outweighed by the quality and effectiveness achieved through spagyric extraction.
In addition to the 750mg tincture we tested, Zion also offers a 1500mg concentration, and some decent price breaks when ordering on a subscription basis:
- Zion Medicinals 30ml (750mg) – $129.99 (single price)
- Zion Medicinals 30ml (750mg) – $99.99 (subscription price)
- Zion Medicinals 30ml (1500mg) – $225.00 (single price)
- Zion Medicinals 30ml (1500mg) – $170.00 (subscription price)
Based in New Hampshire, Zion Medicinals was founded in mid-2017 by Brian Caruso. Because the company is rather new, it hasn’t developed much of an online presence or earned any product reviews from its customers. This isn’t a bad thing but the lack of company history prevents us and customers from gauging quality and customer support from the experiences of other users.
Furthermore, in our research, we did not find a lot of information about the company itself, its processes, beliefs, mission, etc. Most importantly, we did not find a lot of information about how the company uses the spagyric process. Again, not necessarily a bad thing (the quality of the product speaks for itself); however, from a customer’s point of view, we would love to know all about the company we are doing business with.
Several of our team members and close colleagues tested out Zion Medicinals’ tincture for various symptoms (arthritis, stress, chronic pain, etc.).
Based on our personal experiences, the judgment was unanimous – Zion Medicinals’ tincture is amazing. Not only are its results long-lasting and effective, it works really fast. This must be spagyric extraction in the works!
We all agreed the flavor was a bit earthy but wasn’t too bad. For the quality and benefits Zion’s tincture delivered, it was a minor discomfort and well worth it.
Please note that the results we experienced are based on our own personal experience with the product, and we are not stating or promising you will experience the same results we did. While Zion Medicinals’ tincture was very effective for us, it may not be effective for yourself or others as there are many factors that may affect each individual’s experience.
After thoroughly reviewing Zion Medicinals’ 750mg full spectrum tincture, we’d say it’s definitely worth giving a try.
Zion Medicinals is one of the few companies that utilize the spagyric extraction process, and it is that process that makes Zion’s tinctures so effective. Based on the improved results we experienced, we predict that spagyric extracted CBD will become more popular and Zion Medicinals could be the first of a new breed of CBD products.
That said, Zion Medicinals is a rather new company that’s still developing, and naturally needs some work around the edges. Everyone starts somewhere, and we believe Zion is definitely starting off in the right direction.
