Viva La Canviva! Today we’re going to review a product from the brand Canviva: CBD oil drops, also known as tincture. Tinctures are one of the easiest products to use in the CBD industry and can come in all sorts of flavors. Tinctures are also one of the most customizable products to use because you can take different amounts with the measured dropper, rather than being limited to a single capsule or edible. Canviva has a wide variety of tinctures available, but the one I’ll be reviewing today is their Well-BeingTincture. Without further ado, let’s dive right in!
Canviva products are made with full-spectrum CBD, but there doesn’t seem to be any mention of the extraction method used (C02, Ethanol, etc). Also missing from the website is the state in which the hemp is grown, although it does say it is U.S. grown.
Both of these points can be very important to a regular CBD user, and could potentially turn curious consumers away.
With that said, the website was professionally created and maintained, with blogs, FAQs, multiple tabs, easy navigation, and even a photo contest! I could have spent an entire hour on their site just reading through all of the available information. If you’re a new CBD user or wanting to get more information on what CBD, how to use it, and just about everything else, I encourage you to check out their website. It’s literally one of the best I’ve seen. You can even become a brand ambassador or affiliate, something that I’m sure many users will do once navigating the site and trying the product. Any questions you have can be answered by filling out an online form, or you can reach out to the company via social media (they have Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Linkedin, or you can sign up for their e-newsletter).
The product has a review score of 5 stars based on only 2 reviews. The company’s Facebook did a little better, with a 5 star review based on only 3 reviews. Perhaps if the company were to offer an incentive for reviews, such as 10% off your next order, there would be more reviews. I’ve noticed that most people will leave a review if the product or service was poor, not necessarily about how great the product is.
Canviva had an extremely detailed and very organized section of their website called COA (Certificate of Analysis) in which they uploaded the results of third-party lab results on every single product on their website. There’s even a link that you can click that shows you how to read the lab testing results, something I’d never seen before on a CDB website. It was such a nice surprise and very useful for people unsure of how to understand the verbiage of the lab results.
The bottle was dark to prevent sunlight from filtering through and ruining the tincture liquid, but if I held the bottle up to the light, I could easily see how much tincture still remained inside the bottle. The label was very bright and cheery, with a white label nearly circumferencing the bottle, and a calming green lettering all around the bottle. The orange drop on the bottom of the bottle was a bit confusing, as I wasn’t sure if that meant the tincture was an orange flavor, but other than that, it was calming to look at.
The full-sized bottles contain 500mg of full spectrum CBD. While the recommended amount varies with every person, the graduated dropper lets you decide how much to take in a dose.
The initial judgment of the product was that it was a premium product. The tincture’s vibrant color was very similar to olive oil: medium yellow. The liquid was translucent and I could see through the yellow tinge easily. I was able to read the dropper’s markings with the liquid filled completely. It looked to be of a high quality and the viscosity was consistent throughout the bottle and every time I filled the dropper.
The product was wonderfully simple to use, from unscrewing the bottle to filling the dropper bottle. I give it a rating of 9, only because the plastic seal was a little difficult to tear off. The perforated lines on the plastic packaging should have been a little more defined, thus making it easier to remove.
The flavor of this tincture isn’t listed, but the flavor had a very tea-like scent, very similar to green tea. Upon opening the bottle, I immediately thought of brewing a nice cup of soothing green tea and highly looked forward to trying it. I filled up the dropper to the max amount and placed it under my tongue.
My initial reaction was, “wow, that’s a wonderfully smooth, rolling texture.” It wasn’t until rolling the tincture around in my mouth that I really discovered the rich flavor. It tasted faintly like green tea and melted into a quiet nothingness. The texture was oily and smooth, but not slimy or unpleasant. The tincture was a little difficult to hold under my tongue, but as it sloshed around in my mouth, it left a delightful green-tea like flavor throughout my mouth. Once I swallowed the tincture, there was a warm and calming aftertaste that was wonderfully pleasant.
Overall, I would rate this flavor as a 8. I would have liked to taste more of a recognizable flavor, like mint or blueberry, but the taste was very smooth and clean. The bottle does not state that the tincture is flavored, and the website says their products don’t have any added artificial colorings, flavorings, or sweeteners. For a tincture that is marketed as unflavored, this was a superb non-flavored “flavor.” I was very pleased with the scent of the tincture as well as the flavor.
Effects & Benefits
It’s very difficult to pinpoint the exact benefits of this product, since everyone reacts to CBD differently. Since this product is marketed to improve your overall well-being, it’s meant to be taken every day over a long period of time. This product seemed to be effective, as I felt more peaceful and relaxed with each use. When I took this product at night, I felt ready to sleep and calm. I give it a rating of 8 because I felt like it was making an improvement in my daily routine. However, there could have been more factors that contributed to my overall wellbeing, such as better sleep and a general feeling of zen.
I would definitely recommend this to a friend because the product was easy to use and had a calming scent, as well as a mild and soothing green tea flavor (even though it was marked as unflavored). CBD has such a negative connotation, thanks to the common misconception that it contains THC or is a different form of weed. For people looking to improve their general wellbeing and “live their best life” as the saying goes, this product is an excellent way to start.
Price vs Value
The tincture is available on their site for $45.50. This is among the cheaper I’ve seen for a 500mg tincture, but by no means does that reflect poorly on the product as an inferior product or poor quality. For the flavor, calming scent, amount of CBD per bottle, and overall packaging, this is a bang for your buck. Many companies offer a subscription price to convince people to pay a lower price, but you could easily stock up on this product for less than many companies charge for a recurring subscription price.
As previously mentioned in the title, the name of the company is Canviva, and their website is https://www.canviva.com/. Located in Minnetonka, MN, this company is based in the United States and every purchase supports local business within North America, something that is very important to me.
My final conclusion of the company and the product is that it is a premium product developed by humans and not just a corporate company looking to make money. I loved the bright and cheery logo on the bottle, the taste and scent of the tincture, and the super-helpful website. I was humbled to review such a product developed by such an incredible company. I urge anyone looking to use CBD to cope with various health issues to check out Canviva. Their products include but aren’t limited to tincture, topicals, and even pet products! Enjoy your newfound CBD products and make sure to leave a comment below of which one you ended up purchasing!
